MACUFest SLC 2025
Full-scale festival production for Mountain America Credit Union's employee appreciation event. 2,500+ guests, live headlining entertainment, and a complete festival footprint built from scratch at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah.
Two years of planning. One night to deliver it.
Mountain America Credit Union's MACUFest is one of Utah's largest single-day employee appreciation events. A free outdoor festival open to MACU employees and their families. The 2025 SLC edition at Thanksgiving Point brought together 2,500+ guests for an evening of live music, lawn games, food trucks, and entertainment that took two years to plan and one night to execute.
In The Event managed the event end-to-end: venue selection, site visits, headliner and DJ booking, food truck coordination, security, medical staffing, wandering entertainment, drone show, raffle coordination, and full festival build. Every zone, from dual registration entrances and twelve lounge areas to chalk art, photo experiences, aerialists, and a trampoline act, was sourced, staffed, and executed by one team. Over 15 distinct areas. One evening to get it right.
The Challenge
MACUFest isn't a corporate event with a defined room and a fixed footprint. It's a full-scale outdoor festival built from nothing. It started with the right venue. In The Event conducted site visits before selecting Thanksgiving Point as the location. From there, two years of planning followed: headliner negotiations, entertainment booking, food truck coordination, security and medical planning, drone show logistics, and rider management for every act on the bill.
On the production side, the challenge was scale and simultaneity. Every zone had to be fully built and operational when the gates opened at 6:30pm on July 12th. Twelve lounge areas arranged. Lawn games lit. Photo booth backdrops dressed. Chalk art completed. Aerialists briefed. Signage towers and wayfinding positioned so 2,500 guests could navigate Thanksgiving Point's grounds from the moment they arrived.
- Dual registration entrances for 2,500+ guests
- 8 branded signage tower stations
- 12 leather lounge areas with wood arbor shade structures
- Extensive lawn game zone with custom chalk art
- 4 photo experiences: vintage vehicles + custom backdrops
- Swag pavilion with 21 tables and overhead signage
- Concert stage surrounds and artist green rooms
- Headliner, DJ, drone show, aerialists, trampoline act
- Food trucks, security, medical, and full event logistics
Services Delivered
In The Event managed MACUFest from the ground up: two years of planning, vendor coordination, entertainment booking, and logistics, then built every zone of the festival from the front gate to the concert field.
Every zone planned. Every moment documented. Distributed to 2,500+ guests on the day of the show.
Festival Map & Schedule
Before a single piece of furniture was loaded, every zone was mapped and every moment was scheduled. In The Event produced the festival site map and guest-facing event schedule, made available to 2,500+ guests via QR codes posted throughout the festival grounds.
The Execution
In The Event loaded in on July 11th and spent the next 30 hours turning Thanksgiving Point's open grounds into a fully operational festival. Fifteen zones. Twelve lounge areas. Hundreds of individual pieces of furniture, equipment, signage, and lighting. Entertainment briefed. Riders fulfilled. Each piece placed, dressed, and working before a single guest arrived.
By 6:30pm on July 12th, the registration counters were staffed, the lounges were arranged, the lawn games were lit, and the green rooms were stocked. Three thousand people walked in and found a festival. That's the work.
- 15+ festival zones built simultaneously
- Dual registration for 2,500+ arrivals
- 8 branded signage towers across the grounds
- 12 black and gray leather lounge areas with arbors
- Full lawn game zone with chalk art and pixel lighting
- 4 photo experiences, all custom framed and propped
- 21-table swag pavilion with overhead display
- Boxwood hedge raffle area installation
- Neon Trees artist green rooms with full F&B
- Wireless 4K camera for live concert coverage
From the Festival Grounds
A look at the zones, furniture, lighting, and experiences the In The Event team built for MACUFest SLC 2025.
Lounge Areas
Twelve black and gray leather lounge environments spread across the grounds, each with sofas, chairs, and ottomans under wood arbor structures. Designed as genuine gathering spaces for guests to rest, connect, and stay.
Lawn Games
Cornhole, giant Jenga, Connect Four, Kan Jam, and horseshoes, all lit with wireless tube lighting as the evening came on, with Adirondack seating and professional chalk stencil art across the ground.
Live Entertainment
Stilt performers, wandering entertainers, Flying Aces aerialists, and a trampoline act kept the grounds alive from gates open through the headliner. Booked, contracted, and managed by In The Event as part of the full entertainment program.
Chalk Art
Four large-scale chalk stencil installations by professional chalk artists. Each covering the ground with custom MACUFest artwork that turned the festival field into part of the visual environment.
Registration
Dual entrances each with six branded counters, bag check stations, LED step lighting, and line mover flags. Built to move 2,500+ guests through arrival without a bottleneck.
Concert & Stage
Neon Trees headlining the main stage. In The Event's stage surrounds, lighting, artist green rooms, and live camera coverage all in place before the first song.
How We Built It
Two years of planning. One full day of build. Six hours of festival. One day of teardown. Every vendor, every act, every zone. One team.
Planning for MACUFest began two years out with site visits and venue selection before Thanksgiving Point was confirmed. From there, In The Event managed headliner and DJ booking, wandering entertainment and aerialist contracts, drone show coordination, food truck vendor lineup, security and medical staffing, raffle program design, chalk art planning, and full rider management for every act. On July 11th, the crew loaded in and built all 15 zones, completing setup by 3pm on July 12th.
Six hours of live festival. Registration lanes processed 2,500+ arrivals. Wandering entertainers, stilt performers, and chalk artists activated the grounds from gates open. Aerialists and a trampoline act performed on the main field. The DJ kept energy through the set transitions. Neon Trees headlined. A drone show closed the night. In The Event crew was on the ground across every zone for the full run.
Strike is its own logistical event. In The Event coordinated the departure and loadout of every vendor, entertainment act, and crew member on site. All rental inventory was logged, loaded, and returned. Swag and raffle items were accounted for and returned to the client. The production footprint across all 15 zones was fully cleared, and Thanksgiving Point was returned to pre-show condition by 5pm. Following strike, In The Event conducted a post-event review with the MACU team, walking through what worked, what to refine, and how to build on it for next year.
