EVENT TECHNICIAN

Job Type: Full-time

Wage: $13 to $19 /hour

  • Negotiable depending on skills, knowledge and working experience.

In The Event is looking for ambitious individuals to join our great team of Event Technicians. These individuals will work closely with our team and Warehouse Manager to ensure that our events are of superior quality and are set with the highest professionalism and care. Technicians also maintain our innovated inventory and oversee the facility needs of our two warehouses.

A typical day may include driving commercial vehicles to venues anywhere from Provo to Ogden and setting a whimsical wedding or a trade show booth. We are not a 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday company. Work schedules may include late nights, early mornings, weekends, holidays, 12 hour days. Traveling may also be required. Previous event locations have included Canada, Florida, Colorado, Wyoming, California, Las Vegas, St. George, have events, will travel! Daily Duties Include:

  • Pull inventory for events using a inventory rental system.
  • Set up events based on floorpans, 3D rendering, and at the direction of the Event Planner/Account Rep.
  • Strike events, making sure all inventory is accounted for.
  • Returning inventory to shelves after proper cleaning.
  • Updating inventory as required.
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining inventory.
  • Maintaining company vehicles.
  • Facility duties required to maintain warehouses and office.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or higher
  • Proof of acceptable driving record
  • A good sense of humor!

Work Environment:

  • Small family owned business with family like environment.
  • Will have moderate supervision in small team.
  • Can be fast paced, with multiple events in a single day.
  • Headphones are not allowed on warehouse floor but music is provided.

Experience:

Previous experience is not required, but preferred in:

  • Live audio/ mixing
  • Video switchers
  • Powerpoint presentations
  • Lighting designing
  • Light board operation
  • Theater
  • Stage Management
  • Event Production
  • Power tools/ construction
  • Basic computer skills

Physical Demands:

  • Employees are regularly required to stand, walk, push, pull, climb, carry objects, squat, or bend over.
  • Must also reach, push and pull below and above the shoulders.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move 10 to 25 pounds.
  • Some tasks require the occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
