When Medtronic set out to host its Fire & Frost event in Salt Lake City, the goal was clear: create an immersive environment that felt bold, elevated, and memorable while working within the architectural constraints of a downtown hotel venue. Hosted at the Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City, the event needed to balance warmth and energy with a clean, winter-inspired aesthetic that could transform the space from the moment guests arrived.
That challenge is where our team stepped in.
From the entrance experience to the lounge layouts and photo moments inside, we approached this event as a full environment build rather than a collection of rentals. Every design decision was made to support flow, comfort, and visual impact while reinforcing the Fire & Frost theme throughout the space.
To bring the “fire” side of the theme to life, we layered warm materials and glowing elements throughout the room. Modular bars, illuminated counters, and soft lounge seating created inviting gathering points that encouraged conversation and movement. Faux flame features and warm lighting accents added energy without overwhelming the space, giving the event a sense of momentum as guests circulated.
On the “frost” side, we leaned into clean whites, acrylic surfaces, and winter textures to create contrast. LED columns, shard towers, and cool lighting tones helped anchor the winter aesthetic while keeping the space modern and refined. The balance between these two moods was intentional, allowing each area to feel distinct while still cohesive.
Rather than treating seating as an afterthought, we designed multiple lounge environments that served different purposes throughout the night. Modular sofas, chairs, coffee tables, and area rugs were arranged to create natural pauses within the event. These zones gave guests places to sit, connect, and recharge without pulling them away from the overall experience.
Every layout was planned with sight lines, traffic flow, and accessibility in mind, ensuring the space stayed functional even as the room filled.
One of the focal points of the event was the chairlift photo op, designed to bring a sense of winter nostalgia indoors. Complete with a custom winter backdrop, textured rugs, and seasonal décor, the photo moment became a high-engagement feature that guests gravitated toward throughout the evening. It was playful, immersive, and perfectly aligned with the Fire & Frost concept.
From the LED marquee entrance to custom graphics, signage, and branded installations, Medtronic’s identity was woven into the environment at every touchpoint. Column wraps, foam core graphics, and lighting control ensured the branding felt intentional and premium rather than temporary.
Behind the scenes, our team handled logistics, installation, strike, and coordination within the tight downtown Salt Lake City schedule, allowing Medtronic to focus entirely on hosting their guests.
This Fire & Frost event is a great example of how thoughtful event production can transform a hotel venue into a fully realized brand experience. By combining furniture rentals, custom décor, lighting, and environmental design, we helped Medtronic create an atmosphere that felt immersive, warm, and unforgettable in the heart of Salt Lake City, Utah.
