When Arbiter Sports hosted their conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, the goal was to create an experience that felt energetic, branded, and interactive while still supporting the structure of a professional conference environment. Hosted at the Marriott Downtown at City Creek, the venue provided a flexible foundation. The challenge was transforming that space into an immersive, sports-inspired environment that felt intentional from registration through evening activations.

One of the primary needs was adding branded moments throughout the conference without overwhelming the space. In The Event focused on creating interactive touch points that felt fun, familiar, and aligned with Arbiter Sports’ identity.
Custom basketball centerpieces were designed for each table, immediately tying the event back to the sports theme while adding visual interest throughout the room. These were paired with foam finger picks and a large custom foam finger, giving attendees playful, memorable details that sparked conversation and photo moments.
The centerpieces and props solved two problems at once. They reinforced branding while also breaking the ice, encouraging guests to engage with their surroundings and with each other.
Lighting played a key role in shaping the atmosphere and highlighting branded elements. In The Event incorporated a mix of Hyperion tubes, Helios tubes, and Pixel tubes to add depth, contrast, and controlled pops of color throughout the space.
These lighting elements were used to accent displays and activations rather than flood the room, ensuring the environment remained polished and professional while still feeling dynamic. Wireless mounting options and tripod stands allowed the lighting to be positioned precisely where it added the most impact.
Another key need was creating structured display areas that felt intentional rather than temporary. In The Event used black cube frames with frosted acrylic panels to build clean, modern display zones that supported branding and interaction.
White acrylic pedestals were layered into these areas to highlight featured items and signage, giving each activation a clear visual hierarchy. A custom graphic hat bar sign anchored one of the interactive zones, drawing attendees in and creating a natural gathering point on the show floor.
Behind the scenes, In The Event managed delivery, prep, setup, on-site support, and strike, including late-night load-out following the event schedule. A dedicated florist and basketball prep team ensured centerpieces and branded elements were installed cleanly and consistently across all tables.
