When the Academy of Dental Management Consultants planned their Blue Carpet Event in Salt Lake City, Utah, they needed more than just a venue. Hosted at the Marriott Downtown at City Creek, the downtown location offered a strong starting point. The challenge was transforming the space into an experience that guided guest flow, elevated the atmosphere, and supported the purpose of the evening.

One of the first needs to solve was how to encourage conversation without crowding the room or forcing guests into rigid seating layouts. In The Event addressed this by designing the space around illuminated furniture that naturally invited guests to gather, pause, and connect.
The layout centered on LED Deluxe Counters and LED Highboys, which became the visual and social anchors of the event. These illuminated pieces defined gathering zones throughout the room while maintaining an open, flexible flow. Styled with fresh floral centerpieces and custom tabletop signage, the counters reinforced the event theme while keeping the overall look clean and modern.
Seating was completed with Terrace Bar Stools, giving guests a comfortable place to settle into conversations while preserving the sleek aesthetic of the space.
To further enhance the furniture, Pixel Tubes were integrated directly into the counters. This internal illumination added depth and polish, allowing the furniture to stand out without overwhelming the room.
Lighting was critical to the success of the event. The space needed to remain bright enough for conversation and award recognition while still feeling intentional and refined.
In The Event layered multiple event lighting rentals to strike that balance. AX-5 uplighting and Pixel Brick accent lighting were used to reinforce the blue color palette and define key areas of the room. Hyperion tube lighting added architectural depth and visual interest, helping the space feel dynamic while remaining professional.
Together, these lighting elements created a cohesive atmosphere that transitioned seamlessly throughout the evening.
First impressions mattered. Guests were welcomed with a blue carpet entrance featuring a 20-foot blue carpet runner paired with chrome stanchions. This arrival moment immediately set expectations and guided guests naturally into the reception space.
Inside, award displays were positioned intentionally, ensuring recognition moments felt purposeful and celebrated. Display elements and lighting worked together to keep attention focused on the awards while maintaining visual continuity across the room.
Behind the scenes, In The Event managed delivery, setup, on-site support, and strike. Catering and service areas were framed with white velour drape, keeping back-of-house elements visually contained while allowing the main event space to remain clean and cohesive.
